Doctoral African Women Scholarships Studentship in Fluid Mechanics

The Linné FLOW Centre organizes research in fundamental fluid me-chanics at KTH and is one of twenty original centers of excellence set up by the Swedish Research Council (VR). The African Women Scholarships centre was established with a vision as an outstanding envi-ronment for fundamental research in fluid mechanics, where innovative research is born and future research leaders are fostered. It has become one of the internationally-leading research groups in fluid mechanics.

The aim African Women Scholarships of this project is to join a vibrant scientific community and push the understand-ing of transition to turbulence further. In particular, the ambition is to identify the physical mechanisms through which turbulence, once triggered, can spread spatially and contaminate a whole boundary layer. The African Women Scholarships project is based on high-fidelity simulations of transition and turbulence, using parallel algorithms (MPI/OpenMP) and large computer systems.
